Job Summary:
Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Executive Director, Sterile Processing. The Executive Director, Sterile Processing will oversee the quality, compliance, safety, and related education/training of sterile processing across the VUMC Enterprise.

Department Summary:
The Shared Clinical Services Division is a new division at VUMC that will reside within the Clinical Enterprise and will support VUMC's various entities such as Vanderbilt University Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt Health Services along with Vanderbilt Health's community hospitals and ambulatory clinics. The newly forming division will follow a shared services model and will initially include administrative and organizational alignment of Vanderbilt University Medical Center's pharmacy, laboratory, and sterile processing services. The new division's goals are to ensure enterprise alignment, economies of scale and operational synergies, standards of best practice enhancing quality, patient safety and compliance while eliminating variability. Due to VUMC's expansive growth, core services have reached the scale at which a new shared services model, creating greater alignment, standardization, and efficiencies for these services, is needed.

Key Responsibilities:
The Executive Director, Sterile Processing will have direct oversight of sterile processing operations at the Vanderbilt Case Cart Operations Center. This individual will work collaboratively with Infection Control, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Peri-Op leadership, Medical Leadership, and other key stakeholders to ensure the quality, compliance, and safety of sterile instruments, &/or related products utilized in the delivery of patient care. This individual will be responsible for managing a large workforce, providing exemplary customer service, and meeting key performance metrics related to sterile processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate with have a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in large/complex sterile processing operation along with a history of delivering outstanding technical and customer service. A Master's degree in healthcare or business is highly desired.
