Position Summary
Reporting to the Foundation President, the Vice President, Prospect Development and Data Services will have overall responsibly for planning, growing, staffing and executing the foundation's systems information and prospect development programs. This role leads the organization's initiative to continue to build upon the current comprehensive strategy to develop data-driven methods for growing the philanthropic capacity for Children's Minnesota.
The Vice President serves as a trusted leader to the Foundation President and collaborative and authentic colleague to the Vice President, Engagement and Associate Chief Development Officer and the Vice President, Philanthropy while assisting with the development and implementation of annual and multiyear goals and strategies for the Foundation to create a sustainable, comprehensive and high-performing fundraising program.
As the leader of the Systems Information and Prospect Development teams, the Vice President will set strategy and goals to ensure talented people, efficient processes, accessible reporting, detailed data and sophisticated technologies are in place. These strategies include reporting and analysis to discover new, high value donors, upgrade existing donors and secure and steward current donors and their designees effectively and efficiently.
An analytical professional with the ability to both think strategically and operate and operationalize tactically, this leader will have strong management acumen with an emphasis on motivating his/her team to establish a customer service mindset, while keeping a keen focus on leveraging the talent and tools needed to provide consistent and swift prospect research resources and insights.
The Vice President is a leader within the Foundation and will be responsible for aligning activities with the needs and mission of the organization. The role will actively work to maximize resources to grow and develop a collaborative, results-driven team utilizing fundraising operations best practices in a donor-centered culture. He/she will also take the initiative to build relationships with contemporaries in healthcare philanthropy operations and demonstrate thought leadership through continuous innovation.
Location (e.g. remote or on-site): Remote. Must be available to travel to CMN locations for meetings and events. Travel up to 25% .
DHS Background Study Required? Yes
Education: *Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
Experience: *Minimum seven to ten years of combined leadership in fundraising, development operations, prospect research and management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Minimum seven to ten years of combined leadership in fundraising, development operations, prospect research and management. *Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced proficiency in Excel. *Proficiency with prospect research tools and business intelligence tools, vendors and applications, such as DonorSearch, iWave, LexusNexus and Tableau. *Experience with data analytics, statistics, and/or data governance. *Superior judgement, creativity, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a highly complex environment. *Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and team members simultaneously and see projects through to completion in a timely manner. *Aptitude for program and project evaluation and process improvement. *Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. *Excellent team-building skills, focused on engaging and retaining team members.
