Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Cincinnati Children's (DBE) is seeking an outstanding individual to join a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team.
Our vision is "Healthy Children in Healthy Families and Healthy Communities: changing the outcome through rigorous research." Our mission is to advance pediatric research and care by providing leadership in biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical data management.
We pursue our mission by conducting innovative research led by our faculty, by engaging in multidisciplinary research projects with basic research and clinical divisions of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), by providing education, training and consultation to students and professionals at CCHMC and the University of Cincinnati (UC), and by working with national research networks to promote clinical and translational research that is designed and conducted in partnership by academic researchers, patients and families, and other stakeholders.
Our twenty-two faculty and more than fifty staff have expertise in numerous statistical and epidemiological methods that advance understanding of child health and help ensure that the research done at Cincinnati Children's is world class. The Division partners with nearly all of the clinical and translational research programs of Cincinnati Children's, including established and emerging collaborations with the Division of Biomedical Informatics for projects requiring cutting-edge, high-dimensional data analysis techniques. Our faculty conduct independently funded research to develop statistical methods and advance the field of pediatric epidemiology. In addition to conducting research, the Division has built several shared research facilities with tools and technologies for innovation, including the Geospatial Research Accelerator for Precision Population Health (GRAAPH), a hub that democratizes the use of graphical user interfaces, geospatial techniques, and data. The
Data Management and Analysis Center (DMAC) leverages the statistical and epidemiological expertise of our faculty and staff to expand its ability to support the research enterprise of Cincinnati Children's. It is the largest centralized resource for study design, data management, and statistical analysis solely housed within the organization.
The methodologic expertise, management experience and leadership of DBE faculty have made it possible for us to compete successfully for investigator-initiated, data coordinating center and methods core awards funded by the National Institutes of Health and other sources. Our group has made a collective commitment to translate research findings from regional, national, and international studies to clinician and patient stakeholders through our mission "healthy children, healthy communities." We are committed to make CCHMC a national leader in predictive modeling and causal inference applications in data science.

Deborah.Mancini@cchmc.org QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or related discipline and experience with health research focused on "big data" analysis, including, but not limited to, selection, prediction, and discovery methods, for high-dimensional markers of complex, longitudinal disease progression. Development of a programmatic line of research in this area leading to high-quality peer-reviewed publications and the ability to successfully compete for grant funding is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with professional work experience in biostatistics in a public health or healthcare setting and demonstrated research potential through project experience, including peer-reviewed publications. The highest priority will be given to candidates who hold a post-doctoral fellowship, have experience in biomedical "big data" applications in a healthcare environment, and are interested in developing both novel data science techniques for high-dimensional data analysis and in leading analyses as part of a collaborative team. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
