Memorial Sloan Kettering's Development team helps accelerate research and optimize patient care by raising funds to support the work at MSK. We are responsible for major gifts, institutional giving, fundraising events, annual giving, planned giving, and direct marketing.
Our work touches the lives of people around the world. The data and discoveries found at MSK are shared with the global oncology community. We also have more than 120 MSK-initiated clinical trials running at other institutions.
We are seeking a hard-working, detailed-oriented Data Coordinator to join the Development Services team. This position will contribute to the efforts of being donor-centric while fostering data integrity and database quality that forms the backbone of reporting.
Sort and distribute incoming mail
Handle incoming checks while maintaining compliance regulations
Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of checks, sensitive documents, and other items between offices or departments
Assist with phone and printing of donor receipts and acknowledgments
Maintain file system, including shredding
Process donations received by Memorial Sloan Kettering
Update the donor database regularly to incorporate new information to ensure accuracy and data integrity
Apply analytical skills and judgment to identify the appropriate handling of tribute gifts and notifications
Ensure timely, accurate data entry to facilitate the generation of donor acknowledgment letters
Execute funding and account attribution decisions, apply business rules and procedures specific to the individual, planned, corporate, foundation, and other third-party gifts
Maintain the integrity of financial data, correspondence, and a wide range of account-related data throughout the gift input process
Troubleshoot problems and concerns on matters related to the maintenance of gift and donor records
Use independent judgment to resolve or raise issues
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
Proficient in using search techniques in information and relational databases
An excellent communicator able to convey decisions and resolutions to any internal or external partners
Dedicated to integrity and a good work ethic
2-4 years of proven experience in a busy, non-profit environment
Experience with a large database
Experience with data analysis and critical thinking
Experience with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, word processing, and other standard desktop applications #LI-Post
