For several decades, UHH has served UNITE HERE Union workers in the hospitality, food service and gaming industries. The Fund’s mission is to provide health benefits that offer high quality, affordable healthcare to their participates at better value with better service than otherwise available in the market. The Fund accomplishes this through innovation and empowering their participants to better manage their health and healthcare.
The Culinary Health Fund (CHF), based in Las Vegas, Nevada, constitutes almost 60% of the membership of UNITE HERE HEALTH and represents an extremely important fund in its own right with substantial influence in its market. CHF provides medical, dental, pharmacy and eye care benefits to over 120,00 participants and dependents. The Culinary Health Fund includes one health center and two pharmacies with plans for expansion of services.
Within this changing healthcare market, UHH seeks an innovative and inspirational executive who will lead the Culinary Health Fund to achieve immediate and strategic goals. The President will provide direction, oversight, and leadership to Fund staff in the achievement of the Fund’s mission by developing and implementing strategic goals, including overseeing the development of additional health centers and maximizing operational efficiencies. This executive position is a member of the UHH Executive Leadership Team and serves on Management Boards for UHH LLC subsidiaries and UHH Employee Benefits and Investment Committees for UHH staff benefits programs.
Successful candidates will have at least seven years of senior leadership experience within a healthcare delivery system, or preferably in a health plan environment, with demonstrated success in strategic, financial and operational management in advancing the performance of those systems. A strong grounding in value-based contracting, and performance improvement is preferred. A track record of collaboration, engagement, cultivating internal and external relationships as well as fostering a culture of commitment to service excellence is critical. An advanced degree in business or health care administration is highly preferred.
