Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California has an exceptional opportunity for a results-driven Marketing professional with a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children. This is an opportunity to join the Strategic Marketing and Business Development team as Community Relations Liaison. Shriners Hospital is the largest provider of pediatric sub-specialty orthopedic and burn care in Northern California and is recognized by US News and World Report as a top pediatric hospital in the country.
The Community Relations Liaison, under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Marketing and Business Development, develops and maintains positive community relationships for collaboration and enhancement of hospital market share. The Community Relations Liaison helps develop, coordinate and administer policies and procedures related to public relations in accordance with Shriners Hospital Regulations and Bylaws, as well as those directed by the Administrator.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Develop robust community outreach plan to increase awareness and preference for the Hospital among community-based organizations and agencies that serve children and their families who may be eligible for care at the Hospital
Establish and maintain relationships with targeted community-based organizations and agencies that support the Hospital’s growth and retention strategies
Deliver presentations, attends meetings and distributes educational materials to potential patients, families and community groups that serve them
Attend conferences, health fairs and community events to educate influencers and consumers, including securing participation in events, setting up displays, hosting information tables and distributing information on services offered and how to access them
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field; excellent human relation, computer and communication/writing skills; exceptional networking & negotiation skills; solid public speaking/presentation skills; and previous consumer marketing and/or grassroots/community outreach experience. Must have the ability to organize work projects collaboratively; teach and act as a mentor; and lead a team toward a common goal. Previous experience in a similar role working in collaboration with community and business groups and identifying and vetting marketing opportunities is required. Previous hospital or healthcare experience and bilingual skills are preferred.
