Practice Guideline Research Assistant

The National Society of Genetic Counselors’ (NSGC) Practice Guidelines Committee (PGC) seeks a part-time research assistant to support development of its evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. This is a dynamic position that provides an opportunity to help shape the practice of genetic counseling. Candidates must be able to commit 10-15 hours per week consistently until the end of 2019, with the possibility of an extension. Ideal candidates will have an interest in genetic counseling, evidence-based medicine, clinical research, and/or systematic evidence review and guideline development. Background: The PGC manages development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines on behalf of the NSGC. Each guideline includes a systematic evidence review (SER) and a clinical practice guideline that is based on evidence from the SER. Separate author groups work on each SER and practice guideline. The PGC employs a part-time methodologist with expertise in SER and guideline development to provide overall guidance to author groups. Under the training and supervision of the PGC methodologist, the Research Assistant will support author groups in the duties and responsibilities listed below.
