At AstraZeneca our Biometrics & Information Sciences (B&I) department is an integral part of Global Medicines Development (GMD) and is the home of statistical, programming and information experts for late stage drug development.
As the Information Management Specialist within Oncology and Immuno-oncology you will work within the Information Practice (IP) group alongside other Information experts who lead the re-use of our clinical data and information assets to help maximise the value from our late-stage drug projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Information assets only become valuable when used - that is why Information Practice exists.
Reporting to the Therapy Area Information Science Director you will act as a key member of the Oncology team deployed to Drug Project(s) to support specific pieces of work. You will be responsible for capturing and retaining knowledge in:
Key drug project decisions and supporting documentation (Project Memory).
Peer-review and investment decisions of development proposals.
The re-use of shared clinical data, and the knowledge and value generated.
Championing good information practices
As a key member of drug product teams, you will identify and provide clinical information sources to help support effective decision-making and the delivery of services to projects.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science, Computer Science or Information Science.
Some experience in the application of information and knowledge management ideally within pharmaceutical, biotech or technology industries.
Excellent communication skills and facilitation skills.
Project management skills and ability to apply these in a multidiscipline and multicultural setting.
Clinical drug development experience and knowledge.
Desirable Requirements
Recognised as an information science/information management expert with proven ability to influence strategic decision making within a multidiscipline and multicultural setting.
Experience from supporting clinical submissions process.
Strong experience in a range of clinical design projects within the drug development setting.
Knowledge and exposure to the one or more of Therapeutic Areas in which AZ specialises (Oncology, Respiratory, Inflammation, Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease).
