In collaboration with the interdisciplinary Heart Institute, the Senior Director is responsible for all aspects of the Institute’s operations, including financial management, clinical operations, clinical research and research administration, establishing the vision, strategic direction, and quality across the continuum of care for children and their families. Collaborates with hospital leadership and physician colleagues for the development of the strategic plan to achieve integrated programmatic goals, including for marketing, business development, practice management, clinical management (both inpatient and ambulatory), research coordination, and program quality and safety initiatives. Implements planning, operating, and accountability systems that ensure the continuing growth and success of both Institutes. Works closely with Institute physician leader and other physician members to ensure alignment between the clinical and academic missions of the programs. Demonstrates and promotes the values of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The Heart Institute includes the following clinical programs and specialties: Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiovascular Surgery, CVICU, and Anesthesiology.

Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience is required. Seven to ten years’ experience in a leadership role in healthcare administration. Operations management experience in high volume, tertiary or academic medical center. Experience with grants administration and academics preferred. Strategic planning or business development background. Comprehensive business development and program administration knowledge in health care. Service line experience strongly preferred. Experience must include successful program planning, implementation, evaluation, and budget preparation, management, and physician relations.
